Pugna Aeterna — The Eternal Struggle
A handcrafted gothic chess set designed to be both fully playable and a striking display piece.
Pugna Aeterna, meaning The Eternal Struggle, is inspired by the timeless contrast between light and shadow, hope and despair.
The chess board is handcrafted from birch plywood, with selected sections stained in a rich walnut finish to create depth and contrast across the board.
The chess pieces are made from resin and individually hand-painted in gold and silver, giving each side a distinctive, dramatic appearance.
Each set is supplied with a purpose-built storage box made from 6mm birch plywood, designed specifically to keep the board and pieces together and protected when not in use.
Because every set is individually made and finished by hand, there may be small variations in the wood grain, stain and painted finish. These natural differences make each set unique.
